氷雪地帯に住む先住民族のイヌイットは一般的に日本人が白色だと判断してしまう色に20色以上の名前をつけて見分けているという話を聞いた。色彩に溢れる街に住んでいる私達には不要な能力に思えるかもしれないが、それは本来人間が兼ね備えている能力でもある。
ただただ真白い「雪」を正確な露出で撮影した写真を見るとき鑑賞者は白色に何を視るのか。
Inuits living in polar regions have more than 20 different words to describe what only looks like the color white to Japanese people. It might seem superfluous to us living in colorful cities, but this is also an ability we humans all originally have.
